a clog/construction boot/hiking boot hybrid with a cozy knit lining, swoon.

these were love at first sight when i spotted them in teen vogue's september issue while at the cottage. i finally tracked them down today (they apparently have sold out in a lot of stores) and i can't wait to spend my fall in them, comfortable, adorable and 140$can.

furthermore, i must say that i think aldo changed their sizing because these are an 8 and the last time i bought aldo shoes i had to return them because the 9 was snug. has anyone else noticed that? i'm also in love with those hunter lace ups above, dark green and a gum sole, yum.

isabel in elle's 25 to watch

isabel was featured in elle magazine's 25 twenty five year olds to watch story in their anniversary issue. i think she looks so stunning! i want to say a big congratulations to susie bubble for being featured as well. susie you are a fashion blogging pioneer and without you and the now defunct stylebytes, true north style may never existed. you deserve it susie and you look great! more shots to come....

so lovely, look at her little dog!

i also bought this alexa chung for madewell tea dress in cream, but i was a bit disappointed with it. yes, the design is gorgeous, but the silk fabric is so thin that it's sheer and very wispy. i wish it had a little more weight because it pretty much needs to be worn layered up. on the fence about whether to hold on to it or return it, for the price i expected a bit more. either way, isabel looks gorgeous in it and it is a very pretty dress.

these are my favourite pictures of them, they were shot by street photographers in porto, portugal paparazzi style. they would take your picture and then you could buy the shots from them, such a cool idea that i wish was done still.

my parents were so stylish and my mom made most of her own clothes. she's just 19 here.

alexa chung for madewell

hitting the madewell site early this morning (3am early) still didn't snag me an alexa chung for madewell bat graphic t-shirt dress, grrr. i did purchase the betty tee dress in cream and two sketchbook tees with graphics that are now sold out. the dinosaur and the bear, yeah! i also considered the velvet hot pants, but i wasn't sure how they'd look on my non alexa legged body, so i'm waiting to hear the feedback from the blogging world. let me know what, if anything, you all bought and how you like it.

and because i still can't help but miss the one that got away, anyone looking to sell an extra sketchbook dress, small or medium email me...
