i can never get enough sienna. anyone whose been following true north style for a while knows she is my ultimate style inspiration. i love her attitude about dressing, the way she mixes her favourite pieces into her wardrobe in fresh ways and her bohemian spirit. i think her rekindled love affair with jude has brought back a little of that 2004/05 magic and her lovely bangs as well. i haven't seen her look this good since her g.i. joe press junket. these are some recent favourites.

sienna arriving in paris with an incredible piece of monogramed louis luggage, that lovely denim biker, her favourite prada bag and some gorgeous heart earrings + hot pink nails.

then there's sienna out in london, first in her fabulous chloe susans, perfect aviators and the same striped tee she took to paris. secondly, she's wearing insane camilla skovgaard wedges, leather pants and her prada and denim biker once again. sigh** so pretty and with hardly any make up.

my met favourites. every year it's an overload of glamour and the most beautiful dresses. i loved leighton (in marc jacobs) and taylor, all bohemian and flowy . the ultimate 90's grunge slip dresses. leighton was perfectly styled. i adored the headpiece and the floral print, my runner up for best dressed. i thought taylor embodied a young drew barrymore in ralph lauren and i love the idea of that dress as a wedding gown. anne hathaway (in valentino) and camille belle make the list for perfect sweetheart necklines, my weakness. camille was especially stunning in jason wu, both at the gala in red and at the after party in green. stam had my #1 model look. i adored the dark purple colour of her rachel roy, her perfect gold jewels and how it hugged every curve. you don't have to show everything to be sexy, **cough** blake**:) + her hair and make up = flawless. i loved katy perry's light up cute circuit confection because it was fun and very true to her personal style. sometimes celebrities lose themselves in big gowns but katy rocked katy. finally, i wasn't disappointed by two of my favourite style icons kate bosworth and sienna miller. sienna looked so radiant in pucci with jude by her side, but i think kate's beaded retro inspired valentino dress was my top pick of the night.

tragedy - rip. lee alexander mcqueen

i was shocked today to hear that the incredible alexander mcqueen passed away. he was a true visionary, artist and innovator. every season he pushed the boundaries not only in his designs, but also in his presentations. i don't have the pleasure of owning a mcqueen piece, but i did try on a gorgeous, but simple velvet strapless dress of his last year. i was so impressed with it's construction, simple lines on the outside but inside the dress was an intricate corset. it fit perfectly and made my body look amazing, he really knew how to dress a woman's body so it looked it's best. on top of his obvious talent, the man himself was such a character. i'll always remember him flashing the crowd his union jack boxers! above are some of my favourite shots of him and one of sienna wearing a favourite of his dresses. i'll always remember energy, your smile, your awe inspiring runway shows, esp. the kate hologram below and all your beautiful designs.
