skins, zombies and mutants

• firstly, how stunning is kaya in the july uk instyle? the shoes in the second picture are unreal. i love the cut out details. i can't wait to see more of her in the fourth season of skins, which has just started shooting. 
• i've been a little behind on commenting lately. i'm blaming it all on good books and a need to dvd. all i want to do is laze my days away in a good story whether on my laptop or on some pages. following as many blogs as i do it can easily take me hours to read and comment on them all, not to mention work on my own posts. i just rather spend those hours reading pride and prejudice and zombies, which i finished last night. i loved the spin on what is probably my favourite book. it made the story a little more modern. even though it's still set in late18/early 19th century england, lizzie bennet is a shaolin trained zombie killer and thus a lot more forthright when it comes to talk of sex, death and mayhem. it's funny, entertaining, has great illustrations and the zombies blend perfectly in with the well loved austin verse. so, if you love jane austin you should def. pick it up and while you're at it track down the bbc mini series, lost in austin, so good.

kaya scodelario is effy

after seeing photos of the lovely willa holland on lefashion i noticed a similarity between her and the gorgeous effy from my current favourite show, skins. played by seventeen year old kaya scodelario, effy is the younger sister of the show's leading man tony stonem. effy capivates the viewers attention in every scene she's in and her beauty and style are so enviable. i had to share these shots with you of kaya done for her models 1 portfolio. check her out in the screen caps from skins below and as the star of season three airing now. pictures from models 1 and google.

skins, oh wow

my new obsession is skins. a british teen drama, whose characters are so real, developed, well acted and endearing that i can't stop watching/gushing. over the last week or so i've watched the first two seasons, which feature the original cast. i fell hard for the gang; tony, michelle, syd, maxxie, chris, anwar, jal, effy and especially cassie. so much so that, i'm kind of heartbroken that the current third season only features effy but i definitely plan on getting the dvds so i can watch them over and over again. the series also has amazing music and you can check out a video below of the cast covering one of my favourite songs ever, wild world by cat stevens. i don't want to ruin the series for you by revealing story lines but i urge you all to rent it or watch it, you won't regret it. the show's so smart and candid that i might even like it more then gossip girl.  i know this post isn't fashion related but in the immortal words of chris from bristol, f*@#k it.
