leather and lace

this skirt was a thrifting find and even though i found it months ago it took me awhile to figure out how to wear it. with it's high waisted satin "corset" that has built in belt loops and black lace circle skirt it's an 80's delight. they funny thing is how stores change over the years. this is from suzy sheer which back in the day was obviously the epicenter of hip fashions but now caters to the young teacher set looking for affordable business casual wear. i paired the skirt with a simple grey tee to let it take the spotlight. in an ideal world i would wear it with my cutout lace ups and little socks a la the teen vogue spread i posted a little while ago but instead i had to work so i ended up in flat leather boots. my boy preferred the second look and told me while holding back laughter, " i don't think your supposed to wear socks with those shoes", lol.
