open bar

my annual work party. always the sloppiest shindig of the year, with an open bar can you blame us? i stuck to bud lights so i stayed civilized, but it was still a blast. since the party was at a rock bar this year i thought it fitting to wear something a little rougher around the edges. hence, the smokey eye, leather mini, messy hair and t-shirt. i had so much fun dancing to 90's hip hop and watching my buddy nate play with his band the commandeers. a-mazing.

LOVE the jacket!! Such a good work party look and the Terroni parties sound legendary ;)

as for native pieces in AZ...unfortunately it's a negative :( I wanted to venture to the outskirts of Pheonix because it's hard to find the good stuff in the city but since i was pretty much solo on that mission, it didn't materialize. there was this area called Old Scottsdale which we passed by a few times, but i was so weary that it was a scam and the prices would be ridiculous that i didn't even bother, even though i saw a few nice-looking blankets i could've easily taken home with me :) I didn't want to end up buying something from a tourist trap scenario, you know?
i have a few navajo silver bracelets/cuffs and turquoise stone pieces from when i was there about 5 years ago, near Utah and i bought them in this rugged store (more like a silver motorhome) just below the mountain where we were headed to camp and for me, it would have to be a similar shopping experience to that one before i would buy something Navajo. The jewelry is still in amazing condition and didn't even rust. i know it's the real deal and the experience was super authentic too. so no dice unfortunately (and the fact that i got three splinters in my thigh this weekend from sliding on the bench where i wanted to put the blanket-- lol sort of re-inforced my dissapointment on not being able to venture out and find a proper blanket lol). but i know i'll be back to AZ, so maybe next time. it's hard pleasing 7 people on a trip like that ;)
