on the road day 17 - baywatch

on our second day in la i wanted to get the true california beach experience. years of watching baywatch as a kid left me with pretty high expectations, but santa monica and venice beach were all i hoped they'd be. first we headed to santa monica pier and walked around 3rd st promenade, then after lunch we went down to venice where i finally swam in the pacific ocean. i even got to see a few red trunked life guards, my very own mitch buchannon and eddie kramer.
this was my very favourite part of la and next time i visit i'd like to stay in a hotel in santa monica.
