if my life had a uniform...

two thumbs up for some of my favourite new purchases. i just can't get enough of these 90's inspired, comfy choices, there's nothing better to wear in these never ending colder months. 

this tee from wilfred by aritzia is the perfect top for pair with leggings. it's long enough to cover the bum but slit on the sides to follow the curve of the body and take away the frumpiness that oversized tees can sometimes create, especially when being photographed. it's not inexpensive, but it's so lovely that i've already bought it in black (above) and grey.

the rest of 2012 - a recap.

fall 2012 recap fall outfits, san fran celebrating! wc champs, me and jensen ♥ ♥, the supernatural convention, in the impala ---dreamcar---, halloween dressing (gemma teller on the top/peggy bundy on the bottom), thelma and louise, "this shirt is haunted" for gublernation, terrarium making and kurt in concert, lightning wolves, burgundy fringe, tied flannels, camo-ed up, urban outfitters change room decisions, do the bartman, nirvana and riding pants - toe pick!

on the road - day 27/28 - red rock of utah

after we left tahoe the big drives began, 10 hrs a day driving across the nevada desert, and almost all of utah before we stopped for the night. in the morning it was onwards to colorado for a quick stop in aspen and finally, vail. these pictures are mostly from a viewpoint in utah that i just had to photograph. although more north then my usual utah stops along the arizona border, it reminded me so much of the national parks i love. i also grabbed a shot of a one of the blazing wildfires that were everywhere this summer, nature's fury :(

on the road - day 21 - san simmer

the pacific coast highway, wow.
this was a definite roadtrip 2012 highlight. we headed north on saturday morning to san simeon where we'd spend the night before heading on to big sur. ideally i wanted to spend two nights in big sur, but because it was the weekend saturday night was booked everywhere. san simeon is a tiny tiny town about an hour south and it's famous for it's elephant seals and proximity to hearst castle, but it also has a gorgeous wild, coastline. with it being so windy on saturday the whole area reminded me of tofino on vancouver island, stunner.

on the road - day 4

wednesday kicked off country music week in nashville and after a morning walk/run around green hills we headed down to broadway to see little big town perform by the cumberland river. we just made it for their last song, boondocks. good thing that was my favourite song of theirs and the only one i wanted to hear, perfect timing. we walked around broadway and painter's alley a bit, i got some new posters at hatch show print and we hit jacks. oh my god, jacks bbq! i love it. it's an institution here in nashville and although i actually had better tasting bbq today (shocking to say, i know) nothing beats the consistency and atmosphere at jacks, "who's neeeextt"
later that night we went back down to broadway to watch the cmt country video awards. such a cool experience seeing so many great performances from all the best artists. carrie underwood, luke bryan, lady antebellum, eric church and journey/rascal flatts were my favourites. finally, we ended the night at the stage for some honky tonkin'.
