here i am in my grimy backyard on a rainy afternoon trying to make the most of less than perfect weather/locations. we work with what we got right? i'm wearing my denim obsessions, the joni jeans from topshop. oh how i love these babies. super high waisted and comfortable, plus under 70$!! 

i'm also wearing my favourite sneakers, ash virgins in leather. i've had these since 2009 and i finally just wore through the soles (single tear) please tell me cobblers can fix that?

on the road - day 19

i put together this special number for dinner on day 19. when i was in new orleans i bought this sheer hawaiian blouse and i'm so in love with it. it works as a top, but it equally great worn open as a jacket and that print is such a summer classic.
but lets not get ahead of myself, here's what happened earlier on the most frustrating day of roadtrip 2012. i was trying to find some wildfox pieces i've been lusting over online, but none of the stores seemed to carry them. in my search i stupidly tried to walk around la, after hours trudging along random roads i ended up empty handed, starving and sweltering. la is not for walking. on the bright side i got to check out the legendary ameoba music and catch up with my bestie paige over dinner at yummy la poubelle. i also bought a gorgeous carnelian crystal charm that i've worn almost everyday since at a magazine shop down the block from the restaurant.

put a ring on it

dainty, sparkly, whimsical rings are so darling
i'm always on the lookout for ones that can be layered, worn above the knuckle or on the pinkie...
the heart ring in the first image above is a new purchase from nashville, great for the pinky or above the knuckle on the middle or pointer finger.
the middle shots are some gorgeous inspiration i found on tumblr.
the diamond ring and oval shaped outline on the left are my favourites, but i love the emerald and the swallow pieces on the right too (my favourite gem stone and i'm obsessed with animal imagery).
finally the last shot has my current rotation of silver rings. from top to bottom: vintage child's thunderbird trade ring, tiffany silver heart, "wild hearts can't be broken" inscribed band from etsy, zuni tourquise ring i got in utah, brand new floral above the knuckle ring i just bought in nashville and my pamela love talon.
