on the road - day 26 - lake tahoe

you can't go to tahoe and not take a drive to emerald bay, the best view of the crazy blue water, vikingsholm (the lake's very own castle) and the lake's only island. after a morning exploring the island, it was back to zephyr cove beach for some more fun in the sun. they sure like to party on the nevada side :)

on the road - day1/2

so i'm going to be taking you all with me on the road as i travel all over the usa these next few weeks. lots of outfits, travel shots and shopping to look forward to on true north style. the first day's outfit went mostly undocumented, but you can see glimpses of it and my new marahoffman for soludos espadrilles below. day two i wore my favourite trusty plaid with a cropped rock tee and cutoffs, it's sure hot here in nashville.


some shots from in the car when we were first heading out through southern ontario and the first moment in the us, detroit. michigan flew by and we didn't see much except for some run down warehouses by the highway. there's something about buildings like this that i find so beautiful and romantic even though they represent less than good times.

the trip through ohio was much longer and we couldn't make it to cincinnati before we had to stop to fill up, both on gas and chipotle in dayton. in the end we decided to drive straight to our hotel instead of checking out cinci, too bad though because it was the most beautiful thing we saw along the way. a mixture of cool architecture, lush green all along the ohio river.

we spent the next morning driving through kentucky which was well, very kentucky...
before finally reaching our first real destination of the trip, beloved nashvilletennessee!


our first day was spent shopping, getting settled in our adorable apartment and going for a walk/run around green hills to work off the amazing food at 5 guys. more tomorrow...

so excited for this collaboration, mara hoffman and her incredible prints paired with the iconic espadrilles of soludos.

there are four great designs: the odyssey purple eyes, the neon tiki stripe and my two favourites the mystic white pencil and totem bird print.

when i saw them on mama's a rolling stone i knew i had to grab a pair (i bought the totem bird print) especially because they're only 45$. unfortunately mara hoffman doesn't ship out of the usa, but soludos does and i was able to snag them there for 66$ with canadian shipping (still a great deal in my opinion). i'm not sponsored by these companies, i'm honestly just in love with these and had to share them with my lovely readers, get them while you can!
