open bar

my annual work party. always the sloppiest shindig of the year, with an open bar can you blame us? i stuck to bud lights so i stayed civilized, but it was still a blast. since the party was at a rock bar this year i thought it fitting to wear something a little rougher around the edges. hence, the smokey eye, leather mini, messy hair and t-shirt. i had so much fun dancing to 90's hip hop and watching my buddy nate play with his band the commandeers. a-mazing.

party like it's 2009

ok, so the cats out of the bag. these photos are old, like 2009 old. i've been a very bad blogger and i'm so behind, hence the blogging at dark horse today. i figured if i got out of the house i'd buckle down and get a ton of these posts that have been on the desktop and in my photo albums waiting, up and onto tns. so far i'm at 6 posts! yeah, on delay of course so your bloglovin's won't be bombarded all at once :)

this is what i wore to the debaucherous, annual staff xmas party. not the brightest idea to wear pleather to dance the night away, i was extremely hot and had to shower right when i got home, eww, but it looked good, lol. so fun as usual although not as cringe worthy as normal b/c no shots allowed at the open bar this year. i think my boss is finally figuring out his staff are just a bunch of alcoholics and tried to reign us in this year (i'm not speaking about myself per say, i always drink responsibly, well usually).

my h&m sequin leggings that are so rad and inexpensive. definitely go pick up a pair if you can still find them. my owl tee from aritzia that i special ordered. in fact, when i bought it i had no idea what colour it would end up being as it was labelled "menage". none of the sales people new what that was but, as i didn't want white, i just chose it. it ended up being forest green which is perfect b/c that's one of my favourite colours. finally the shoes, i wanted these forever. when they first came out they were over 200$ at nine west. i just couldn't justify spending that much on nine west shoes, no matter how cute. but while shopping for bday presents i saw them on the sales rack for 68$ and an additional 20% off. best of all they actually had my size! so they ended up being under 60$. happy birthday to me.

what can i say about the show last night besides it was unbelievable.

electric, fun, epic.

it was one of the best shows i've ever seen and i've seen some amazing acts. it had a lot to do with the crowd/band dynamic. the boys were loving us, calab was smiling the whole time. he said after the first 4 songs we were the best crowd all tour and that coming into hamilton they weren't expecting much (if you've never been to hamilton it's a city of 500,000 and they make steel there so half the city is pretty waterfront and half of it is towers of flames and piles of rock) but they'd never come to canada again if hamilton wasn't on the bill. calab said we made the show an experience the band would never forget. they were joking with us and with each other about how they couldn't even hear themselves, everyone was so loud and into it. they bowed for us forever after their 3 encore songs. i was standing dead center, ten rows in and stared at caleb all night but there was no sign of lily. although the place was packed so she could have been there. as for their reputation of no stage presence i must disagree, they were dancing around, very talkative and rocking out. whoever says that hasn't seen them with a good crowd because they were phenomenal last night. caleb was also drinking gatorade most of the night so perhaps that made a difference. i can't wait to see them again! but if the show isn't as good i'll look to the words of the boys, "if it's not forever, if it's just tonight, it's still the greatest!" nothing can tarnish the memory of last night.

new years, 7 days late

a little late, i give you my new years outfit. like my marc boots, this was a dress i went to again and again before i finally bought it, reduced to 1/5 it's original cost. i just love the tree pattern and the green colour, my fav. the plunging back and front is not something i'm used too and i had to tape myself into the dress but there were no wardrobe malfunctions as i rang in the new year. the layers of silk chiffon twirled so nicely and the dress became a bohemian dream when i threw my rabbit vest on top. finally i topped off my last outfit of 08' with my vintage chanel. i'm sad to say it was the very first time i've dared wearing it but i plan on many more nights with it on my shoulder in 2009.

so as you've been hearing about all week my friend ian has finally left for his adventure to asia and the uk, which he may or may not return from in six months time. so he had many going away bashes, so we could all say goodbye. ian is one of the most fun people i've ever met and he will be missed. these are the pics from he and his roommate anton's going away dinner. please, don't mind the horrible lighting in some of these i think my camera was on a weird setting. ian and i are in the first pic, so sad. the fourth pic of ian and steven is so cute too. i have better quality shots of my outfit on my new camera and i will post those next. bon voyage sbf.

did someone say open bar?

the work christmas party. it was 4 hours of drunken dancing, stumbling and all out good times. the debauchery was actually quite contained compared to years past, although i didn't make it to the after party as i had to work in the am. i wore a fringe dress in navy, loved the colour, with some amazing star print fishnets. they reminded me a lot of those fantastic emma cook tights she had in her fall/08 fashion show. it was the perfect dancing outfit. i hope everyone out there is having a great holiday, enjoying themselves with family and friends. happy christmas xoxo cindy!

to the tree farm

december not only means snow shovelling and packed malls but it also means christmas trees. i've always had a real tree and every year we go up north to the tree farms and cut one down. here are some pics from the day. my mom and dad always come with kevin and i and you can see my dad in the second pic. we got an amazing tree this year, nice and full and it looks great all dressed up.coat: aritzia

i have to work at 11 am tomorrroooooww.. argh. i've just return from my infamous staff xmas party that my work throws every year. giving free alcohol to a bunch of alcoholics is never a good idea. it was so much fun even though the cops came and shut us down at 2:15. i came home to write to you instead of heading to the after parties because i do have to function in the next 12 hours. i love my work :) i hope all of you are enjoying the holiday season. some inspiration for you. more posts monday pm and tuesday. xoxoxo c.
