i love mixing stripes and ditsy florals, a perfect combination. it was still a bit chilly so i topped everything off with an oversized denim shirt, layered up.

so versitile, comfortable and a great alternative to my black isabel marant dicker boots when the weather doesn't want to co-operate with suede. these guys are popular for a reason and i even like them better than their acne look-a-likes.

April 9th 2011, i set out for my southwest adventure part deux. i headed back to southern utah to volunteer at best friends animal sanctuary, see the natural parks in utah, as well as the big daddy, the grand canyon in arizona and spend a day or so in las vegas. these are some shots of day one. basically we just arrived in vegas, grabbed our rental car and headed on the road, not stopping until st.george for some starbucks and target shopping. we then headed on to kanab, utah where best friends is located. it was a bit chilly and there was lots of snow on the ground up in the mountains, so beautiful. I wore my trusty h&m army coat and my new spy flynn glasses. so excited.

finally for some s#@t's and giggs, the quality isn't the best but it's pretty ridicules.
a few weeks ago i was invited by loulou magazine to take part in a "get their look" celebrity beauty feature. i travelled to montreal with the lovely elizabeth from chic heroin and after an extremely early call time we, along with stephanie from modern antoinette, were all transformed into our celebrity looks. elizabeth and stephanie had blake lively's golden waves and carey mulligan's porcelain skin respectively and my look was megan fox's bold brow. the tutorials were all filmed for louloumagazine.com so make sure you check out our looks here and at louloumagazine.com/beautychallenge.
we were also asked to re-create what we learned at home so here goes, keep in mind i am nowhere near a pro at make up application :)

the focus of my loulou magazine tutorial was megan's dramatic brow. i've never actually filled in my brows before so it was nice to learn something new and see the effect it would have on my regular make up routine.

Finally my nyc clothing haul. it was a little long for youtube because i decided to tack on a few recent purchases, so make sure you check out the second video! the only thing i really regret leaving behind was this rag and bone esmond jacket. so so pretty on, sigh.
the only other things to catch my eye were the willow frame bag and knit flare leggings from alexander wang but i'm very happy with what i decided to purchase.

i know i've been lacking on the outfit posts so i'll try and get the few i have shot up this week and try and get back into taking pictures regularly. i've also begun filming vlogs again. here's my newest, a classic what's in my bag.
it's my birthday today! even though getting another year older has lost some of it's appeal, lol. i can't wait to share with you what i picked for my gift this year, such a dream. to everyone else sharing my birthday, including the lovely rachelbilson, i hope this year brings you luck, love and adventure!
