#tbt warmer weather wish

 

   

A thursday throwback to last May and a sunny day in tennessee. hiking around radnor lake is one of my favorite things to do when visiting nashville. the trails are beautiful and there's always an abundance of interesting wildlife to see, turtles, deer and snakes oh my! it's a great escape only minutes from the city. wearing: shorts - vintage levis via urban outfitters, tee - topshop, sneakers - nike, bag - american eagle

dainty, sparkly, whimsical rings are so darling
i'm always on the lookout for ones that can be layered, worn above the knuckle or on the pinkie...
the heart ring in the first image above is a new purchase from nashville, great for the pinky or above the knuckle on the middle or pointer finger.
the middle shots are some gorgeous inspiration i found on tumblr.
the diamond ring and oval shaped outline on the left are my favourites, but i love the emerald and the swallow pieces on the right too (my favourite gem stone and i'm obsessed with animal imagery).
finally the last shot has my current rotation of silver rings. from top to bottom: vintage child's thunderbird trade ring, tiffany silver heart, "wild hearts can't be broken" inscribed band from etsy, zuni tourquise ring i got in utah, brand new floral above the knuckle ring i just bought in nashville and my pamela love talon.

this shot is from early summer, but the outfit would work just as well going into fall. this sweater cape provides just enough warmth for the occasional cool breeze, a staple for summer nights and fall days.

got my work boots on... i adore these. so cute, versatile and if you overlook my lack of driving skills when wearing them, very comfortable. so what if i have to take them off every time i drive? better safe than sorry. my favourite thing to wear them with right now are my jbrand cargos, this is actually the first time i wore them out after scoring them during a shopbop sale. in the spring i think they'll also look great with a little floral dress.

my favourite purchase of 2010 - isabel marant lacow boots

this might just be my favourite outfit of the whole year. all the major elements also happen to be purchased in 2010. you may recognize this set because i got my head shot for loulou magazine from it. there was such pretty lighting on my porch that afternoon. i wore this for one of my favourite lazy day activities book shopping/starbucks lounging. i've probably spent more on books than clothing since i got back from nyc, i need an intervention! jj. i like buying books you can't stop me..;)

seeing these pictures makes me ache for winter to be over so i can wear my marants again ...the world's best shoe... sigh* and my best purchase of the year.

if only my feet were a size 6...

when it comes to vintage shopping, more and more i've been drawn to etsy over ebay. the selection just can't be beat, the shopping instant and the prices usually less. of course in the midst of searching for the perfect pieces i've come across great pieces that don't fit me but maybe you all would enjoy. i would love to take home any of these incredible shoes, maybe instead i can live vicariously through you lovelies.
