pocket full of posies

all i want to wear right now is florals. this dress is a perfect example, dusty muted print, long sleeved mini, 100% vintage perfection. i styled it two ways, one ideally with the best marc by marc boots and one realistically in chucks. you can't work all night in 4 inch heels, at least i can't. i love how i found the perfect pink nail polish to match the flowers and i adore my fav. blind melon engraved lyric tag/dream catcher necklace.

meow

my new fav. leopard cardi.
such a good purchase.
i'm wearing it with those h&m booties i was obsessing over, and my brooke.
i really love my make up here, all golden and pink lipped. this is a gloss from the sephora birthday pack and just tons of mineralize skinfinish from mac in soft and gentle and the limited edition alexander mcqueen gold as an eye shadow.
i'm so excited kevin comes home tomorrow!! it's sad that there's no more port elgin cabin but i've missed having him around.
p.s. happy halloween everyone, i'm going to be pocahontas!

a man's sweater and a mini skirt

i love this combination. the over sized, cozy cashmere sweater with a barely there mini just poking through. it's sexy but not in an overt way. of course, i amped up the sexiness with the crochet tights and over the knee boots. probably one of the last cold weather looks for a long while.

had to mention i went to see wolverine yesterday and thoroughly loved every moment. i'm such an xmen freak and i adored the cartoon as a kid. hugh jackman officially replaces george clooney atop my older man sexy list but taylor kitsch takes the cake in that move ♡. gambit was always my favourite.

i say yes when i oughta say no

i love this rvca top. it's great as a cardi and it also works buttoned up and worn as a tunic or tucked into a high waisted skirt. plus, how can you not love something this shade of grey. can you tell this is my first outfit post with my new haircut? the stuff i've posted since those haircut pics were all old photos that i was behind on.

flannel love

this skirt was a belated altering project. like a lot of things i get thrifting it needed some tweaking before i could wear it. originally, it hit well below the knee and i had plans to crop it and use it as a cozy winter skirt. of course the months passed and i only got around to hemming it in the last few weeks. it's better late then never though, as i think it turned out great. i'm trying to squeeze in some posts between work and a very entertaining baseball win this afternoon. my jays beat detriot to take the series, nothing better then a day at the stadium.

cloverleaf

st. patrick's day 09', yes i'm that behind posting my looks. i wore my clover printed dress and green wrap cardigan to bring in the holiday. unfortunately, i wasn't feeling very well that day so i was back home after just a few hours. but, at least it was warm enough to wear these cute open knit tights and my favourite new vintage leather. you can tell i liked this outfit b/c there's lots of pictures, ha. i've added a sunny song for a sunny day.... i just had the best margarita laced taco lunch with the boy :)

he seems alive though he is feeling blue, the sun is shining man he's super cool

i love dusty colours. they look sun worn and loved. the afternoon light only adds to the warmth of this look, all grey layers and hazy blues. i'm also having a strong attraction to anything perforated or netted lately, especially this great light scarf. the cardigan is completely perforated except for the hems but it's hard to tell in the photos. i can't wait to wear it with cut offs and tanks this summer.
i've added a clip of one of my favourite hip hop tracks right now, day and night by kid cudi b/c i always have more swagger with my hair pulled back, ;) the video is crazy too.

cozy friday

sometimes all you want to wear is cozy, comfy clothes. in fact it happens a little more then just sometimes in my life. sure it's great to have fun with fashion, wear heels or blazers, squeeze into the skinny jeans but i certainly have no problems embracing my low maintenance side. this look epitomizes that. i paired a vintage jersey tee that i cut at the neck with leggings and flat boots. the vest took the outfit from an around the house, casual errand look to work appropriate by giving it a bit more polish, .....sort of, lol. the sun in these shots makes it feel like spring has sprung but we're still freezing in the negative temps here, when will it end!!! i wanted to give a little shout to patty griffin. i am absolutely obsessed with her song, rain at the moment. it's not a new track but for some reason i can stop hitting repeat on it. check it out. ** an update... i tried to fix the rain player so it would play the whole song but it doesn't seem to be working. i urge you to click the link so you can hear it all b/c it's such an amazing song and the verses are incredible. secondly, i wanted to say thanks for all the input on my haircut. i'm going to grow it out for a while and see how it goes, thus the win goes to kristen stewart. happy weekend!

the swivel in her hips and the look she gives

last week i met up with my mom and we spent the afternoon browsing the shops and having lunch at the drake cafe, yum. although i didn't buy much, i did pick up a bunch of different charms at the local bead shop. they have tons of different sections and i basically bought everything in the native and northern animal boxes. i also picked up ball chain to make necklaces for them to hang on. this is the first of my creations, a little gold arrowhead. i love a long ball chain and i've worn this puppy so much since then. the outfit was inspired by ash olsen and her leather minis. i wanted to try and take mine, which i never wear, and make it work for day. basically, add tights and loose layers and there you go. i really like this look and i may have to revisit it before summer sets in because leather and humidity are not a good combo. i wanted to take the time to say thanks to all my new commenters, i really appreciate all your lovely words. i don't always have time to comment back but i do check out all your blogs and try and follow them on bloglovin. lots of love, xxx cindy.
