get free - nike free 5.0

i love my trusty black nike free 5.0's so much so it was natural that when i saw the new nike running ads, i wanted to add an updated neon version to my collection. the pink ones are my favourite, but unfortunately my nike running store only had them in free 3.0's, so i'll have to wait a little longer for my new babies. so comfortable, these give you a barefoot running feeling and the neon is so on trend. i just loves these guys even if i'm not exactly a "runner". check them out. also how sic are these liberty for nike wedge sneakers? damn.

fringed flare

earlier this year flare magazine approached me to be one of the bloggers featured online in their spring shoe story. we were asked to send in a shot of our favourite shoe for spring and give some tips on how to wear them. i instantly thought of my sam edelman louie boots. not only are these fringed babies super comfortable, they add a rock festival/bohemian vibe to every outfit and that's always my favourtie spring/summer look. in fact, i love these guys so much i recently bought them in a darker chestnut brown too.

if you have seen my recent monthly favourites and haul videos on my youtube channel (there's always a link in the sidebar if you want to check them out and subscribe) then you may have noticed my renewed adoration for all things "skate culture", especially vans. when i was younger i was obsessed with the x-games, skate brands and the whole cali/austraila beach/surf/skate vibe. lately i've been feeling very nostalgic not only in my fashion sense, but also with music, movies and the like. i've been watching the docs pearl jam 20 and dogtown and z-boys, even re-watching my fav. x-games moments on youtube, listening to lithium on sirius non-stop + a bit of t.mills and yelawolf and buying everything vans. i've got the hadley hikers, classic sk8 hi's in blue/black, the perfect hooded flannel and when i head out to cali this summer i plan on raiding the vans store for those pearl jam plaids, those sick leather sk8's highs oh and a vans sweatshirt...oh and an iphone case...

winter garden

these pictures are slightly blurry, but that's the weak wintery sun for you. good thing spring is here so will have prettier, brighter pictures very soon. anyways, this is how i do a winter floral, layered with a sheer shirt, socks over tights and cozy ankle boots. i walked from one end of toronto to other this day, over 4 hrs round trip and stayed cozy/wozy.
i always pick walking over driving.

cool, dry days are perfect velvet shoe weather, just add a vintage rock tee, cardi and a leather jacket and you're good to go.
i can never say no to a great guns n' roses tee and this find was no exception. it says appetite for destruction on the back too, awesome.

the last of the nashville posts, day 11 - finally getting past the tourist trap of pigeon forge and gatlinburg (there is literally a museum for everything, an outlet for everything and about 50 mini golf courses off one two lane road, traffic nightmare) we made it into the great smokey mountain national park. we did a couple of hikes, saw some amazing autumn colours and even straddled the tennessee/north carolina line. you could spend a month explore the huge park, but we just had one perfect day, i'll never forget those hazy blue rolling hills.

good ol' rocky top! whoooo! rocky top tennessee.

nashville day 10 - the first full day in the smokies involved lots of rocking on the back porch and relaxing in the hot tub before heading to knoxville for a university of tennessee football game. what an experience! 100,000 people all in volunteer orange, singing along with the marching band playing rocky top and supporting their boys. that night was so cold and the vols weren't exactly doing that great so we decided to leave after the half time show, but what a show it was, flaming batons, marching band reels and a back flipping davy crocket. crazy.
